Panto Trost is a character in the television series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Panto is a member of the Trost family, the son of Jeppum Trost; he has a sister, Litzibitz Trost. His name and title is "Panto Trost, Lord Prince of the Valley of Inglenook in the Land of Wendimoor".[1]

He is called the greatest swordsman in Wendimoor by Frija Dengdamor.[3] He fights with a scissor sword[4] and also with a yo-yo[1], and has a slingshot in his belt.

Going on a quest[]

Panto Trost fought and defeated two Dengdamor Thugs, before being confronted by Silas Dengdamor. Panto promised his family was not responsible for the disappearance of Silas's bother Farson, and Silas believed him. Panto then continued on his quest to find Dirk Gently from the prophecy.[4]

Aided by Wakti Wapnasi, he passed through the Pool of the Empty Throne to another world. He arrived inside the Cardenas house in Bergsberg, which he broke out of through the front door.[3][1]

During the second night he crossed a road and was hit by Scott Boreton's car at mile marker 127[1]. He picked himself up and ran away.[3]

Captive in Bergsberg[]

The next day he is found by Tina Tevetino and Farah Black, resulting in a fight. Panto is subdued and knocked unconscious by Farah, and brought to the Bergsberg County Sheriff's Office, where he is put in a cell. In the evening he wakes, and tells his captors of the prophecy and his search for Dirk Gently.[1]
