In adaptations[]
In radio[]
In the Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency BBC Radio series, Susan Way is voiced by actress Felicity Montagu.
Susan's role in the first radio series is largely identical to that of the book.
In the second radio series, Richard MacDuff tells Dirk that after Gordon Way's death in a car accident, Susan took over the company and, in his view, micromanaged everything to the point that bold, ingenious ideas would be reduced to being bland and mediocre. Eventually she sold WayForward Technologies to the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation.
In television[]
In the television series Dirk Gently, Susan Way shares her name with "Susan Harmison", portrayed by actress Helen Baxendale. In this version, Susan Harmison has no relation to Gordon and is an ex-girlfriend who leaves him for Richard MacDuff after Dirk Gently hits him with a car, causing him to miss their dinner date.
